About Us

A letter from the owner

Welcome to No.11.

We are hoping to bring something a little different to the Pangbourne dining scene.

I discovered my love of cooking while in school and from that moment on I knew that a career in the hospitality business was for me. I completed my catering qualifications at Reading College My first Saturday job was washing pots in a local pub. My first proper kitchen experience was at the Hand in Flowers in Marlow which was a huge eye opener in terms of the standards that are set and expected in a high-end establishment.

I worked at London Street Brasserie for a number of years, where I really learned about the business and felt real responsibility for the first time.

I have lived and worked in the Reading area my whole life. Coming from a large family, mealtimes were always busy. The meal table was the hub of my family where news was exchanged and stories told. Sometimes mealtimes were emotional, sometimes intimate but mostly fun.

That is what I hope my dining guests will find at No.11. A place to celebrate, to socialise, to network, to have fun.

No.11 is the fulfilment of a dream of mine. One I have had for many years and I am so excited to share with you my vision and ideas of what a small, community focussed restaurant can be.

Our food wherever possible, will be locally sourced, with a concentration on high quality ingredients cooked with love and presented with care & attention.

As this chapter of Pangbourne hospitality develops you will see different weekly set menus, seasonal a la carte offerings as well as periodic themed nights, so that there are regularly new things to try.

My team will always be responsive and looking for ways to improve what we do. The kitchen will be led by my head chef David who is always looking to develop new dishes.

Behind the bar will be another family member, my brother James, who has an extensive repertoire of cocktails ready to be made for you. Once you’ve tried them you will definitely be back for more.

I have always prided myself on the quality of my welcome and attention to detail within the restaurant setting. I look forward to welcoming you to No.11 whether for lunch, for dinner or for special occasions.

We will be open from Wednesday to Saturday for our a la carte and set menu dining from 12-11pm. Sunday will be a little different.

We will be launching to the public on Sunday 31st May. Our first offering to you will be our Sunday Roast service. Every Sunday we will have choice of roast meal with all the trimmings from 12-6pm.

See you soon,

Sean
